Calli Dado joins the Crown Point Community School Corporation as the new principal of Dwight D. Eisenhower Elementary School, school officials said. She replaces Mary Ann Chapko, who is retiring at the end of this school year after 37 years in education, the last 24 as Principal at Eisenhower. Mrs. Dado is scheduled to assume the position on July 1.
Mrs. Dado has recently served 3 years in the Valparaiso Community Schools as Principal at the Elementary School level. Before becoming a Principal, she was Assistant Principal and a Dean of Students at the Middle School for two years and taught 5 years at Central Elementary School in Valparaiso. In addition, Mrs. Dado has worked as the Title I Director for the corporation.

When asked about her new role, Mrs. Dado said, “It is an absolute honor to join the Crown Point Community Schools and be given the opportunity to lead Eisenhower Elementary. As a Crown Point alumna and resident, I look forward to serving our schools and community in a greater capacity. I feel fortunate to become a part of Eisenhower’s continued success and am eager to begin building relationships with staff, students and families.”
Mrs. Dado completed her undergraduate degree in elementary education at Indiana University Bloomington and her master’s degree in Administration and Supervision at Indiana State University.
