PARENT INFORMATION

Good afternoon from Crown Point High School.  This is Mr. Pettit calling with some beginning of the week information.

In Guidance Office news…

Summer School – Registration for summer school is open in RDS Parent Access.  Courses will be offered from June 12th – July 21st.  A brochure outlining summer school courses is attached to the email that accompanies this voice recording. 

ISTEP+ Testing – 10th grade math and English students and 9th grade biology students will be taking Part II of IDOE graduation qualifying ISTEP+ exams between April 17th – May 5th.  Students will be notified well in advance of their testing days and times.  Thank you for your help in ensuring a smooth test administration by making sure your son or daughter has their Chromebook fully charged on the day of testing. 

ACT Testing – Juniors will be taking the ACT + Writing during the school day, this Wednesday, April 19th.  Student testing locations are attached to this email.  Students must have a picture i.d. with them on the day of testing. 

Prom – Pictures will be taken and the Grand March will be held at CPHS from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.  Doors open for the Grand March at 4:00 p.m.  The dance is from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at the Halls of St. George, in Schererville, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.  Please  reinforce the importance of safety and making good decisions with your son and daughter as we approach prom weekend.

In Performing Arts…

Band Concert – Join us on Wednesday night, April 19th, as the Advanced Band performs at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.  Admission is free.

In Athletics…

Dog Tale Affair – The annual athletic department fundraiser, A Dog Tale Affair, will be held this Friday, April 21st, from 7:00 – 10:30 p.m. in the 4H Building at the Lake County Fair Grounds.  Admission is free.
