Engaging in Positive Behaviors & Supporting a Safe Enviroment

In order to serve our students better, Winfield Elementary School staff members have implemented a school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Plan.  Our students are introduced to a list of behavior expectations with the opportunity to learn about these school behavioral expectations.

In order to help students remember the behavioral expectations at Winfield, the staff will actively teach students exactly what the behaviors look and sound like.  Any student, who may consistently struggle with these behavioral expectations, will  have the opportunity to join a small student group and receive additional instructional support with our PBIS Paraprofessional.

Along with the individual classroom behavioral plans, and our character traits (Student of the Month), the PAWS Plan will encourage our students to engage in positive behaviors and a safe school environment. A parent/guardian, can use these expectations too.

Students who may struggle to earn a PAW or need extra help with behavior come to see Mrs. Sims, our schools PBIS paraprofessional.

At Winfield we strive to Play Fairly, Act Kindly, Work Hard and Show Respect.  Our Smiley Kids work hard everyday to try and display Positive Behavior.  When doing so they earn a marble.  Their goal is to fill their bucket with the marbles they have earned.  The incentive can include a positive note home to parents, lunch with a teacher or Mrs. Sims, extra computer time and a goody bag.

These are behaviors that we should be working on at home as well.
