Classroom Positions

Resource Paraprofessional
Resources paraprofessionals work with students across multiple settings such as special education classrooms, general education classrooms, and other learning environments in the school or community.
Your job would be to support students with disabilities throughout their school day, assisting teachers with lessons, working in small groups and encouraging students in their social skills/behavior. As part of each student’s support team, you will collaborate to provide students with what they need.
Resource paras work 184 days and follow the district’s academic year calendar. The role is 35 hours per week, $14.95 per hour.
All paras must have one of the following:
- Associates Degree OR
- Sixty semester hours of college credit OR
- One year of working with children in a school setting OR
- Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment (can be provided by the district)
Preschool Paraprofessional
Preschool paraprofessionals work with our youngest learners in our Bulldog Buddies program. This unique preschool emphasizes the need for students of all abilities to learn and play together.
Preschool paras assist the teacher in carrying out students’ Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for those with identified disabilities. You will work in a supportive capacity as part of a team to meet the needs of each student. You’ll likely assist with items like educational, mobility, vocational and behavior support; assistance with functional skills; and physical or occupational therapy support.
Preschool paras work 184 days and follow the district’s academic year calendar. The role is 35 hours per week, $14.95 per hour.
The ideal para candidate has:
- Associates Degree OR
- Sixty semester hours of college credit OR
- One year of working with children in a school setting OR
- Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment (can be provided by the district)
Intense Paraprofessional
Intense paraprofessionals are a crucial part of the support team for our students who have more significant disabilities. Your role will be to help teachers and administrators ensure students receive quality care, are included in the school environment, and that all parts of their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are met. In this role, you might assist in classrooms where students are medically fragile and/or have severe disabilities. Every para is an important part of the team, but intense paras go the extra mile to help students.
Intense paras work 184 days and follow the district’s academic year calendar. The role is 35 hours per week, $16.55 per hour.
All paras must have one of the following:
- Associates Degree OR
- Sixty semester hours of college credit OR
- One year of working with children in a school setting OR
- Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment (can be provided by the district)
Food Service Positions Available
Production Aide
5.25 – 5.75 hours a day. $14.66 per hour
Production Aides assist in production of food with emphasis on salads, fruits or desserts and is able to set up and perform duties on the cash registers.
Some of the duties include:
- Complete salads, fruits or desserts, and assist with ala cart items for meal service.
- Assists with serving or cashiering at mealtime.
- Will also assist in dish room with putting stock away, labeling, dating, and rotating using the FIFO (first in, first out) method. Ensures quality appearance of foods on service line.
- Serves food with reasonable speed and accuracy according to production record.
- Knows portion sizes.
- Familiarity with proper taste, temperature, composition, and appearance of menu items.
- Able to understand and follow written and verbal instruction.
- Will complete laundry.

Cashier
4-4.75 hours a day. $14.66 per hour
Cashiers ring up students during meal time and run the cash registers – including knowing what makes up a reimbursable meal.
Some of the duties include:
- Set up serving lines with all products per map sheet.
- Will take responsibility of the register, must be able to assess meals quickly for type of meal to be charged.
- Counts drawers if assigned and deposit money in bank.
- Must be able to complete job with or without computer system.
- Must have knowledge of proper serving temps and portion sizes.
- Will also assist with putting stock away labeling, dating, and rotating using the FIFO (first in, first out method. Cleans line after service, will restock line items in between meals.
- Assists in dish room. May be responsible for taking temps and documenting before each meal service. Completes log accounts.
- Runs daily reports and may be responsible for bank deposits.
- Completes sanitation of kitchen equipment and area daily. Assist with function set up.

Cafe Aide
3.25-5.75 hours a day. $14.19 per hour.
This role is safety and hospitality focused. Maintaining clean and safe cafeterias and kitchens help us provide the best possible experience for our students. This position is responsible for setting up serving lines and maintaining the dish room. Maintains standards in the lunchroom according to the principal and manager of each school. Works as a member of the Food Service Team.
Some duties include:
- Set up the dish room, prepare sanitation supplies for monitors or production aides for lunch service.
- Assist with setting serving line up and monitoring during mealtime.
- Works in the dish room between meal periods and after.
- Responsible for cleaning the dish room and machine at the end of each day.
- Make daily and weekly inspections of kitchen conditions in order to maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.
- Will sweep and mop the kitchen floor.
- Will also assist with putting stock away labeling, dating, and rotating products. Must complete a 10-hour sanitation course once hired.

Lunchroom Monitor
3.5-4 hours a day. $14.19 per hour
Monitors provide safety and hospitality to our students every day. As a member of the Food Services team, your role is to ensure order in the cafeteria while helping students throughout their lunch break.
Some of the duties include:
- Stock silverware, napkins, and condiments.
- Put trash bags in cans and in position for use.
- Clean tables.
- Assist with setting, serving line up, and monitoring during mealtime if necessary.
- Assist in scraping trays, and assisting students with various duties (opening milk, etc.). Responsible for cleaning tables in between use and as spills occur.
- Assist with putting stock away labeling, dating, and rotating products.
- Serve meals and assist in the dish room as needed.
- Report any safety issues to the cafeteria or school manager.

Transportation Positions
Bus Driver
Full time, $25.53 - $30.40 per hour - based on experience
Our bus drivers are responsible for our most important asset - our students. We will provide the training for your CDL license if necessary. Bus drivers must be 21 years of age and after training must have a valid Indiana State School Bus Certificate IC 20-27 and meet the medical requirements of the State of Indiana as stated by IC 20-27-8-1
Great bus drivers have: general knowledge of the city and county roads; skill in the safe operation of a school bus; ability to detect malfunctioning equipment; ability to assist children using patience and understanding; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, parents, school personnel, and students. Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to get along well with others.
Responsibilities include:
- Exercises greatest care at all times in transportation of school children
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, employees, equipment, and property
- Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as reasonably possible;
- Operates school bus in accordance with route schedule and designated stops
- Performs daily pre-trip safety inspection of vehicle as per School bus driver handbook, and reports damage and/or malfunction to garage promptly
- Performs daily post-trip inspection of the entire interior and exterior of the bus, clean, sweep, fill fuel tank, and check oil
- Report all accidents, delays, and driver absences to the Transportation office immediately.
- Contact parents immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible, in the event of a student injury, serious illness, or other matter pertaining to the general welfare of the student
- Attend in-service training to improve skills, attitudes, and knowledge of school bus driving and pupil control and all mandatory safety meetings
- Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities
- Complies with and supports Transportation and Administration regulations and policies
- Other duties assigned by the Director of Transportation
Substitute Driver
Part time, $25.53 - $30.40 per hour - based on experience
Sub bus drivers have the same responsibilities and duties as our full-time drivers but work as substitutes, earning part time status.
Our bus drivers are responsible for our most important asset - our students. We will provide the training for your CDL license if necessary. Bus drivers must be 21 years of age and after training must have a valid Indiana State School Bus Certificate IC 20-27 and meet the medical requirements of the State of Indiana as stated by IC 20-27-8-1
Great bus drivers have: general knowledge of the city and county roads; skill in the safe operation of a school bus; ability to detect malfunctioning equipment; ability to assist children using patience and understanding; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, parents, school personnel, and students. Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to get along well with others.
Responsibilities include:
- Exercises greatest care at all times in transportation of school children
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, employees, equipment, and property
- Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as reasonably possible;
- Instructs pupils who ride buses in rider safety annually, and practices emergency exit drills at least twice annually
- Keeps an updated copy of route in bus, including time bus starts in morning, time it leaves with parking lot assignments (schools, terminal)
- Operates school bus in accordance with route schedule and designated stops
- Performs daily pre-trip safety inspection of vehicle as per School bus driver handbook, and reports damage and/or malfunction to garage promptly
- Performs daily post-trip inspection of the entire interior and exterior of the bus, clean, sweep, fill fuel tank, and check oil
- Reports on number of pupils transported and miles traveled to the Transportation Director
- Report all accidents, delays, and driver absences to the Transportation office immediately.
- Contact parents immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible, in the event of a student injury, serious illness, or other matter pertaining to the general welfare of the student
- Suggest safe and efficient routes, stops, and schedules to the Transportation Director
- Attend in-service training to improve skills, attitudes, and knowledge of school bus driving and pupil control
- Attend all mandatory safety meetings
- Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities
- Complies with and supports Transportation and Administration regulations and policies
- Other duties assigned by the Director of Transportation
Bus Monitor
Full or part time available, $16.56 - $17.92 per hour, based on experience.
Bus monitors are an essential part of student safety. You’ll work directly with exceptional education passengers who have special needs, keeping them safe as they board and depart the bus. You must be 21 years old and have a current CPR/First Aid certification.
Job duties include:
- Exercises greatest care at all times in transportation of school children
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, employees, equipment, and property
- Follow IEP and health plans for students
- Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as reasonably possible;
- Assist pupils who ride buses in rider safety
- Report all accidents, delays, and driver absences to the Transportation office immediately
- Attend in-service training to improve skills, attitudes, and knowledge of school bus monitoring and pupil control
- Attend all mandatory safety meetings
- Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities
- Complies with and supports Transportation and Administration regulations and policies
- Learning route details to assist if there is a sub driver
- Other duties assigned by the Director of Transportation
