E-learning Days for the 2022-2023 School Year

May 18, 2022

Earlier this spring, the Indiana legislature signed a law limiting the number of asynchronous e-learning days school districts can use. Our administrative team reviewed the information and consulted with the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) on what this new rule means for both our academic calendar and inclement weather days.

There will be no changes to the 2022-2023 calendar. School closings for weather or other emergencies will remain asynchronous (teachers post assignments and are available for help, but students are not required to join live sessions).

There are no changes to our e-learning days because Crown Point Community School Corporation continues to be designated a Performance Qualified District by the IDOE. This designation is awarded to districts whose letter grade is an “A”. Therefore, the additional asynchronous e-learning days are allowable without requesting a waiver from the IDOE.

When we return to school in August, staff and students will receive updated guidance on e-learning requirements for the year.
