Changes to Covid Procedures Starting Dec. 6th

Dear CPCSC Families,

At last night’s Board of School Trustees meeting, the board voted to make masks optional in all CPCSC buildings beginning Monday, December 6, 2021.

The Board of School Trustees requested and voted for a COVID plan that is based on our district’s data. Our contact tracing data shows that we are not seeing transmission of COVID within our school buildings, including during extracurricular activities where masks have been optional. With the COVID vaccine now available to children as young as five, parents can decide whether to vaccinate their children. CPCSC is not requiring vaccination.

Starting December 6th, our COVID procedures will be the following:

  • Masks will be optional in all of our school buildings and facilities.

  • If the positive number of cases in any building rises above 2% of the building’s population, including students and staff, everyone in that building will be required to wear masks during the school day for 14 days. Please continue to send your child to school with a mask each day.

  • Individuals who test positive for COVID must quarantine.

  • Close contacts will be identified using a 3-foot measurement.

    • Individuals who are identified as close contacts will be contacted by school personnel.

    • Individuals who are identified as close contacts will not be required to quarantine if they do not have symptoms, but should monitor their symptoms for 14 days.

    • If an individual identified as a close contact becomes symptomatic, they should not attend school and should notify the school. They will be required to quarantine.

  • Masks will continue to be required on school buses per the federal mandate.

We will continue to monitor our own data and compare it to other indicators in our community and county.
