Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. David Padan

Welcome to my website!  My name is David Padan and I teach kindergartners at Lake Street Elementary in Crown Point, Indiana.  This is my  fifth year of teaching wonderful kiddos at Lake Street!  Before coming to Crown Point, I had several practicum experiences with students in first, second, and fifth grade as well as filling a long-term subsititute teacher assignment in the Special Education room.

At Lake Street, I try to participate in as many extra-curricular activities as I can! As the sponsor of Lake Street's student newspaper, The Dolphin Splash, we publish 3 editions of student work each year. I have helped coordinate with Food Bank NWI during their Spread the Love Peanut Butter Drive where our school donated an amazing 818 jars to their neat organization. In 2015, our class won an intraschool competition where we were able to send 350 health and hygene items to Lake Street's food pantry. I also help with our school talent show, Lake Street's Got Talent, by running the sound board and special effects! I have also been involved with Lake County's 4-H judging too! This summer I judged projects in the Exploring Literacy, Geology, and Weather categories.

Before teaching, I attended elementary, middle, and high school in Terre Haute, Indiana, graduating from Terre Haute South Vigo in 2011. After high school, I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University in 2015. Teaching has always been the family career! My mom and dad are middle and high school teachers in Terre Haute, my grandpa was the dean of students and principal of the highschool, and my brother graduated from ISU for math education last spring too! My sister broke the trend last fall by beginning ISU's Scott School of Business, but we let her come to family get-togethers anyway! I married my wife, Lake Street's second grade teacher Jordan Padan, in July 2018. We bought a house in Winfield last fall and spent our summer updating the inside of our house and landscaping the outside!
