A Little Bit About Me:
My name is Christina Curtis. I am thrilled to begin my 6th year teaching with the Crown Point Community School Corporation. I graduated from Indiana University Northwest with my Bachelors in Elementary Education and Mild Interventions. During my time at IU, I found that I felt a strong passion and love for Special Education. I am honored to be a part of this successful and respectable, Exceptional Learners Transition Program here at our wonderful home of MacArthur Elementary School. I recently began the Best Buddies program at MacArthur and we will be entering our third year as part of this wonderful program.
I have one son who is 17 years old. He is starting his Senior year at the same High School that I attended. He is the light of my life. I am recently engaged to my fiance Sean and could not be happier. I have a puppy named Maya that I love very much. She is a black shepard mix and she is full of energy. We have recently welcomed our new member to the family, a soft-shelled turtled named Winston Squirtle.
I come from a very loving and musical family. Although the actual musical talent skipped me, I am very passionate about music. I find it is very therapeutic and brings me great joy. When I am at home or in my car there is always music playing.
I love to volunteer and raise awareness for several organizations with my family when I have the opportunity. Some of the ones we regularly participate in are the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Relay For Life, Out of the Darkness-suicide prevention, and the Buddy Walk for the National Down Syndrome Society. I love helping others and bringing joy to their lives and showing my family how fulfilling it is to help and care about each other in this world.
I am looking forward to another great year!
