• Incoming 6th Grade Student Information: 
     
    There will be a 6th grade Parent Orientation during the evening of Tuesday, August 13th from 6:00p.m.-7:30p.m. This orientation is for parents of students who are new to Taft Middle School.
     
     Jr. Bulldog Rush Student Orientation   
    Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 9:00am - 12:00pm 
    Parents please have your student enter through Taft's Student Entrance and be ready to pick up at noon.
     
    Meet the Teachers Night (Open House)
     
    Open House is Wednesday, August 21st at 6:00p.m. This is a time for Parents/Guardians to learn about teacher expectations, cirriculum overviews, projects, and explore opportunities for parent involvement throughout the school year. Please bring a copy of your student(s) schedule. Maps will be provided at Taft.

    Math & Language Arts Options:
    6th Grade Language Arts Seminar is a class that is enriched, and moves at a faster pace.
     
    7th Grade Math: 6th grade students may be placed into 7th grade math which puts students on track to take Algebra in 8th grade. 7th grade math will be taught by a 6th grade teacher on the student's team.
     
    Language Arts Seminar, and 7th grade math are assigned based on testing completed during the spring of the student's 5th grade year. 6th grade students new to Crown Point Schools, wishing to be considered for LA seminar or 7th grade math will need to make an appointment for testing after new student registration in August.
