Hello... Here is a brief little summary that I will hopefully keep updating...
I enjoy being silly with the kids, learning new things together, and growing daily. I believe in educating the whole child, finding what learning styles are best for everyone, trying new things that may seem out of the box, and doing what is best for the kiddos in my classroom.
I am looking forward to another great year. I have taught 4th and 5th grade the last several years here at Timothy Ball. I chose to move downstairs to hang out with my little friends this year. I am excited to be back in 1st grade. I am also involved with several other things around the building and corporation. I enjoy being a part of Red Ribbon Week, Pennies for Patients Week, ELA build for 4th grade, the Return to School Cadre, and wherever I can be the most helpful around our school.
Prior to being back here at Timothy Ball, I taught 1st grade at MacArthur Elementary for two years. Previous to having my own classroom, I was at Timothy Ball working in the Title I department as the Reading Interventionist, as well as many years of being a Title I tutor.
I received my BS in Elementary Education from Purdue University Calumet is December of 2002. Since then, I have been in a couple different corporations, but the last eleven years I have had the privilege of working for Crown Point Community Schools. I have worked with small groups covering grades K-5. I have done after school SOS tutoring and have taught summer school as well. It has been a pleasure getting to know many of the families here in the Crown Point Community Schools and look forward to getting to meet some students and families that I haven't crossed paths with yet.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my kids. I have three beautiful children who are the light of my life. They are getting old enough to be involved in sports and other activities. We are usuallly very busy running from events, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
