Degrees and Certifications:
This is my 9th year in teaching, and my 6th year teaching at MacArthur. Previously, I taught in Battle Creek, Michigan.
I graduated from Michigan State University in 2004 with a journalism degree and, after writing for a newspaper for several years, decided teaching was my true passion. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor's in education in 2010.
I currently live in Valparaiso with my husband Josh, who I've been married to for 11 years. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, while Josh grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. We met in college and never looked back! Josh works very hard as a chemicial engineer at Pratt Industries, and enjoys doing small projects around the house. I really like to cook, read, and organize anything I can get my hands on.
We have 2 children: Aubrey is 7 and in second grade. She is sweet and sassy, loves to read, and enjoys riding her bike. Parker is 4 and in preschool. He loves all things Paw Patrol, and likes to run and ride his scooter. In our free time we enjoy going to the pool, having Movie Night Fridays, sitting by the campfire on our back deck, and playing board games. We also have 2 dogs that are shih tzus: Lexi is 15, and Pippen is 11. And, we have 5 goldfish that were won at the county fair. There truly is never a dull moment in the Larson house!
