Hoosier Books

The Hoosier Book Program is an Indiana based reading program that highlights twenty children's literature choices and allows the Indiana student to read and vote on their favorite.  The twenty books are chosen by a panel based on the recommendations of teachers, librarians and students.
Grades K-3 at Solon read the picture books in library with Mrs. McCarroll, grades 4 and 5, read them independently.  In grades 4-5, children are rewarded as they read 5,10,15 and twenty Hoosier books.  This year we are keeping track of our Hoosiers by "Flying into space." the children are keeping track on Spaceships that are flying through the Solar System in the library.
