Graduation Information
 
Distribution of Announcements will take place on Tuesday, April 17th in SGI during all lunch periods.
 
Cap/Gown Distribution will take place on Tuesday, May 29th and Wednesday, May 30th in SGI during all lunch periods only. Additional cap/gowns will be available. (ALTERATIONS-flowers, buttons, badges, ribbons, etc. or writing/marking on the cap/gowns will NOT be allowed.) For the ceremony, under your gown, your attire should be:
  • Boys-Dress shirt with collar (white preferred), Long dark dress pants (black, brown, or navy.) Dark dress shoes (black or brown and no tennis shoes) and a tie. Note: Since it becomes warm in the Star Plaza during the ceremony, sport coats should not be worn beneath gowns.
  • Girls- Light colored dresses, skirts, slacks and blouses are to be worn. Outfits should not show below the hem of the gown. Dress shoes that allow you to walk comfortably across the stage and down stairs.
Participation in Commencement—a senior must have a minimum of 40 credits to graduate and to participate in commencement. Contact student’s counselor at 663-4885 x 11052, if doubtful about his/her status.
 
Graduation Ceremony will be at the Radisson Star Plaza Theatre on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Seniors will need to arrive at Back Door 9 at 5:30 p.m., dressed in cap and gown and not carrying anything— there will be no place to leave purses, bags, etc. Front doors will open at 6:15 p.m. for guests. The procession will begin at 6:50 p.m.
 
Grad Images will take pictures of graduates as they receive their diploma. Proofs will be mailed to your home and can also be viewed online. No other photographs/filming are permitted on the stage area. To pre-register and have your senior’s photo proofs emailed to you, go to www.gradimages.com and click on PRE-EVENT REGISTRATION.
 
Graduation Practice will take place on Monday, June 11th at the Radisson Star Plaza Theatre. The practice will begin at 10:00 a.m. Seniors need to park in the north lot (behind the stage) and enter through Back Door 9. The card you receive prior to the graduation practice will indicate your seat assignment. Bring your card with you to practice and to graduation. Your card indicates the name of the teacher leading your section, your seat number, and your formal name. Find your assigned teacher near your seat section to verify your seat number. Students should avoid bringing anything additional.
 
Pertinent information regarding the graduation line-up, seating, map of theater and other important items will be distributed to seniors at or before the graduation practice on Monday, June 11th at 10:00 a.m.
 
Senior Obligations
  • All financial obligations (including bookstore and food lunch accounts) must be paid by Friday, April 13, 2012.
  • All books checked out from the Guidance Office or Media Center need to be returned.
  • 40 hours of community service should be completed.
Graduation Ticket sales will begin on Thursday, April 26th, Friday, April 27th, Monday, April 30th in the SGI during all lunch periods only and Tuesday, May 1st in the bookstore during all lunch periods only. Tickets may be purchased at a cost of $10 per ticket, up to 4 tickets total at that time. Seniors who have met all financial and academic obligations will receive a credit of $10 per graduate to go towards the purchase of tickets; therefore, all 4 initial tickets would cost $30. To purchase graduation tickets, please make checks (no cash will be accepted) payable to “Crown Point High School.” Any remaining tickets will be available for purchase on Wednesday, May 16th. (Graduates do not need a ticket.)(Handicap seating is available in the last two rows of the center section.)
 
The Senior Awards Program will take place on Thursday, May 17th in the Crown Point High School Auditorium. Invitations will be given to seniors who will be receiving an award or scholarship. More specifics to follow.
 
Senior Breakfast will take place on Thursday, May 31st at the high school at 8:00 a.m. More specifics to follow.
 
Diploma distribution will be in the CPHS Student Services Office (Guidance) on Wednesday, June 13th from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please bring a photo ID.
